Today the President of Georgia, Mr. Mikheil Saakashvili, according to the Constitution and the Rules of Procedure of Parliament, made the annual report on the current situation in the country for the sixth times.

Jondo Baghaturia, the Leader of "Kartuli Dasi” (Georgian Group) demands strengthening of the Institute of the President. He stated the above-mentioned at the meeting held today.
According to Giorgi Tsagareishvili, the MP, the Publication Consideration Steering Commission of the Georgian Draft Constitution is misleading the society by stating that the new Draft Constitution is for a semi-presidential system.
Magda Anikashvili, the Secretary of the "Christian-Democrats” faction spoke about the necessity of reorganization of the Ministry of Labour, Health and Social Affairs. She considers that two independent agencies should be formed: the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Family, Employment and Social Protection.
The "Christian-Democrats” faction demand invitation of Kakha Baindurashvili, the Minister of Finance to the nearest sitting of the faction for inquiring the causes of the deficit of the school inventory. Giorgi Akhvlediani, the Chairman of the faction held the briefing regarding this issue today.
Giorgi Targamadze, the Leader of the Parliamentary Opposition replied to the initiative of Georgian Patriarchy and His Holiness and Beatitude Catholicos Patriarch of All Georgia Ilia II regarding granting the church lands to the new villages.
At today’s briefing, Giorgi Tsagareishvili, the Member of the Parliament raised the issue of responsibility of Koba Subeliani, the Minister of Internally Displaced Persons from the Occupied Territories, Accommodation and Refugees.
The US Congress staff – assistants and counselors of the Congressmen, visiting Georgia, met with the Members of the Parliament of Georgia.
Guram CHakhvadze, the MP considers as threat the proposal of "Liberty Bank” regarding the long-term pension loans. The representative of the National –Democratic party stated this at today’s press conference.
At the legislative body Michael Jensen and Castriot Islam, the Rapporteurs of PACE Monitoring Committee held the subsequent meeting with the representatives of the parliamentary opposition: Giorgi Targamadze, Nikoloz Laliashvili and Guram Chakhvadze.
Guram Chakhvadze, the MP and the Representative of the National-Democrat considers that by allowing privatization of the gas main the Parliamentary Majority caused threat to the economic and national security of the country. The matter of concern is the draft law "On State Property” that was approved by the Parliament with the second reading. According to the draft law the process of disposing and transferring to the usage of the state property will be significantly simplified.
