During the meeting of David Bakradze, the Chairman of the Parliament of Georgia and the US Congressmen, all core issues of the US-Georgia relations were discussed.

The subsequent public consideration of the Draft Constitution took place at the Georgian National Academy of Sciences. David Bakradze, who chairs the Steering Commission on Public Consideration of the Draft Constitution participated in the discussion of the Draft Constitutional law "On Changes and Amendments to Georgian Constitution”.

In the framework of public consideration of the Draft Constitution, the Constitutional Commission held a subsequent meeting in Georgian Technical University with the Professors of the University. David Bakradze, the Chairman of the Parliament of Georgia, and the Head of the Organizational Commission on Public Consideration took part in the meeting. He introduced the main changes to the Constitution to the general public. 

The Chairman of the Parliament of Georgia, Mr. David Bakradze will be one of the rapporteurs at the Forum of the Community of Democracies in Washington. The Forum of the Community of Democracies is the inter-governmental global coalition of the democratic countries, the primary objective of which is consolidation of democratic principles, norms and institutions in the world. This coalition comprises more than 100 states.

Consideration of the Draft Constitution was held in Telavi this time, in Iakob Gogebashvili State University. The supreme law of the country was introduced to the students and the lecturers by the Chairman of the Parliament of Georgia, Mr. David Bakradze and the members of the Public Consideration Commission.

Another public consideration of the Draft Constitution was held in the Ministry of Defense. The Chairman of the Parliament of Georgia, David Bakradze introduced the new Draft Constitution to the representatives of the Armed Forces and the Academy of Defense.

The public consideration of the Draft Constitution was opened with the minute of silence today in Batumi to commemorate the heroes, perished as a result of Russian aggression in 2008.

The Chairman of the Parliament of Georgia, Mr. David Bakradze opened the "Freedom Boulevard” in Ganmukhuri today.

The boulevard, named after the former President of Lithuania, Valdas Adamkus, will be constricted in Anaklia. The construction was symbolically opened by the Chairman of the Parliament of Georgia, David Bakradze and Valdas Adamkus himself.

The new Draft Constitution was considered in Kutaisi Akaki Tsereteli State University at the meeting. The supreme law of the country was introduced to the students and the lecturers of the University by the Chairman of the Parliament, David Bakradze and the Members of the Public-Universal Commission.

The process of consideration of the Constitution will be onset in the Parliament of Georgia today and the course will be formed in accordance with the existent legislation. The Chairman of the Parliament of Georgia, David Bakradze made the statement regarding this fact after the meeting with the Chairman of the State Constitutional Commission, Avtandil Demetrashvili.

The presentation of the UNDP project "The strong Parliament for Consolidated Democracy” was held in the Parliament of Georgia. The new initiative aims to support for the Parliament of Georgia in all the four spheres of the constitutional authorities thereof: representation, legislation, oversight on the executive government and formation of the state policy.

Activity of the Group, working on the Electoral Code will be prolonged. This statement was made by the Chairman of the Parliament, David Bakradze after the meeting with the Head of the National-Democratic Institute of America in Georgia, Luis Navarro. The Group, working on the Electoral Code, with the initiative of the Chairman of the Parliament of Georgia and with support form NDI has been established for the purpose to improve the electoral environment and legislation.

The Chairman of the Parliament of Georgia, Mr. David Bakradze takes part in the "Third World Conference of the Chairmen of the Parliaments” in Switzerland. The Members of Parliament, Giorgi Meladze, Khatuna Gogorishvili, Levan Vepkhvadze and David Bezhuashvili attend the Speaker of the Parliament in Geneva.

David Bakradze, the Chairman of the Parliament of Georgia will depart to Switzerland on July 19. Giorgi Meladze, Khatuna Gogorishvili, Levan Vepkhvadze and David Bezhuashvili – the MPs will depart together with the Speaker of the Parliament.

The political reforms ongoing in the two countries were the major topic of discussion between David Bakradze, the Chairman of the Parliament of Georgia, and Sergey Tigipko, the Vice-Prime Minister of the Ukraine.

The Chairman of the Parliament of Georgia, Mr. David Bakradze and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Grand Duchy of Luxemburg, the Vice-Premier, Jan Asselborn spoke about the relations between the two countries and the future liaisons, foreign priorities and security at the meeting today.

The Chairman of the Parliament, Mr. David Bakradze hosted the rapporteurs of the PACE Monitoring Committee, Michael Jensen and Castriot Islam, paying the 4-day visit to Georgia.
